In the tufting process, hundreds of needles push the yarns laid in loops into a support fabric. If the loops are cut open, the result is an appealing cut pile. A backing material additionally fixes the pile yarn and ensures the stability of the fabric. Colours and patterns can be applied in various ways: by means of piece dyeing, spinneret dyeing or printing of the off-white carpets on the basis of eight colours. The ICD print procedure with eight-colour printing allows designs created to satisfy individual requirements.
