Judicious Architecture

Project: Federal Labour Court, Erfurt
Architecture: Gesine Weinmiller, Berlin
Flooring: Jen
Photography: H.-Ch. Schink, Leipzig

The extensive premises of the Federal Labour Court in Erfurt are located in the middle of spacious parklands. Select materials underline the integrity of the building. Green and grey are the predominant colours within, standing out against the lighter wooden furniture. More than 7,000 square metres of rugged rib-weave was laid in the hallways and meeting rooms of the Federal Labour Court. A delicate shade of grey provides the background, finely dotted lines in light beige provide the design. Due to its high-quality spun yarn of high pile weight, the carpet also absorbs sound.
